Mobility Grant 

I became one of the winners of personal mobility grant in the field of education and got a great opportunity to do one week course for teachers of English in secondary, tertiary or adult education at Gateway School, Malta.

On Monday the 3rd of February my course  started with course introduction and discussion the questions connected with motivation, learning styles, students accountability, course books and authentic materials used in the class.
On Tuesday the 4th of February we discussed task-based learning and communicative activities for grammar games which we can use at our classes for students of different levels. The ideas for developing writing skills were presented by our teacher Rita and after that we shared our experience.
On Wednesday, the 5th of February we exchanged the experience in using dictionaries at the lessons and addapting materials. We also discussed error correction.
Thursday, 6 February was the day when we did a lot of practical activities. They were the game-like activities for language learning and vocabulary activities to promote fluency. We also did a language development module.
Friday, the 7th of February was the last day of the course which consisted with two lesson observations. One of them was a Business English class (level B2) and the second General English (level C1). After that we discussed these classes and the course in general. The trainees were provided with certificate of attendence.
Saturday, 8 February was a day to pack and leave for home.
Classes started at 9:00 and finished at 14:30 that is why the particepents of the course have enough time to communicate and go sightseeing around Malta.

This grant helped me get better understanding of my current teaching purpose, refresh my knowledge of English and methodology, explore and practise new teaching methods while exploiting various materials, both familiar and new  that gave me ideas on how to be more creative and selective and how to create a fun learning environment to motivate my students.  

After the course I shared my experiense with the collegues of my school as well as  English teachers of Dubno.
